Terry and I made a trip up to Bend to see the kids-and ended up helping them move into their new house. Amanda also came over since her birthday was in a few days. 1) I took Tiffany and Sophia out to one of their favorite restaurants-Victorian Cafe. 2)The next picture is of the hail during a summer storm-pretty big stones! 3,4,5)Olivia was hanging on the scaffolding that was used to paint the vaulted ceiling in the new home. She was exhausted with all her hard work! What a cutie pie! 6, 7) We took a break and were singing 'He is a peach of a savior' and 'Don't be overcome by evil...' both with hand motions. 8) after a long week we were finally moved in and went to Red Robin for dinner-beautiful view of the river! What a wonderful time we had being with our family!!!!
The girls were so patient with all the packing and moving Megan decided to take them to the Bouncing off the Walls. Clever name, eh? It's a huge warehouse filled with different bounce houses and toys. We all had a blast!
The suit Sophia is in is all velcro. She finally agreed to try it out once there weren't so many kids around. So she bounced her way to the wall...and stuck! But she freaked out cause she couldn't get out and it scared her! It might be awhile before she tries that again! Some of the kids actually slipped all the way down and you couldn't even see their heads! It was hilarious! ...and finally a couple of other pics of our sweet granddaughters.
Terry got to the berry bushes about a month ago and did some major pruning! I was shocked at how much he chopped off-really got in there and cut off the old dead branches. I thought they would never grow-but in just a week or so there was new growth coming out! Amazing! And now look at them-no more sticks! It reminds me of the Lord pruning us to bear more fruit-it looks and feels awful-hurts- but how beautiful and productive in the end! "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit" John 15:2 O that we will submit and flourish!
Thought you'd like to see some pictures asap from Bekah Shepard and Johnny Power's wedding yesterday. I know much better ones will follow (Rachel and Renee were the photographers!)but these give you an idea of what a sweet time it was. The ceremony was at See Canyon Fruit Ranch and the reception at the Shepard home. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Our love and blessings go out to this very special couple!
Just had to share some pics from Vacation Bible School last week (I'll put up a few more when I get the CD). So many put so much work into it - and it showed and was worth it! What a blessing to see the kids get so excited hearing about Jesus and praising Him. The adults had just as much fun and were touched by the kids. The last day Jesus appeared as our risen Savior. The kids flocked out of their seats to bow down before Him and to get an extra hug-it was so sweet! God is so faithful!! It was a wonderful, fun, blessed week - and yes, I'm glad it's over :0)
It's always fun having my brother and sis-in-law come up. They came up on Fri the 18th and left Mon the 21st. This time they brought their grandson Nick. From the pictures you can see he towered over me! He's 6 ft 2 in - and he's only 13!! While Mark was off to his golf tournament, the 4 of us went on a bike ride on the Bob Jones trail to Avila. It was a bit overcast but we still had fun riding, eating and enjoying the beach. On Sunday Sandy came over and helped set up for VBS, which began the next day. Such a trooper! Then we all went out to Quarterdeck for clam chowder and fish-yum! And thanks Sandy for these pics (check out her blog for more :0 ) Love you all
This is for you Sandy and Mom. Amanda told me last March that she wanted to do a new cut and color so I haven't done either for 3 months! It's been terrible after going in every month! She got in at 4:30 this morning, then after about 5 hours of sleep she fixed me up-whew! See the next entry for the 'after'...
O, this feels much better! Amanda always does a great job and has the newest techniques which I appreciate. It will take awhile to get used to a new cut and color. You can't really tell but we're letting the gray grow in and weaving color with it. Yikes! I've got a lot of gray! It's a good thing I'm up for new things, eh? I guess if I don't like it I can always go back to coloring the whole thing. What do you think?
I've been on the lookout for recipes with berries and found this one for scones -delicious! Everyone at work loves/hates me :) ~ Time for Tea, anyone?
This is for Tiffany and Sophia I'm picking this many berrys every day. You know Nana she loves to eat them but she's not much help picking. Sure mis your help!! I will try and keep Nana from eating them all till you guys can come down.
love you, Papa Terry and Nana Dawn
These are the first few berries I picked today but there are 1000's! ripening up very nicely-my mouth is watering in anticipation of yummy berry cobbler. I think I may have these few on vanilla ice cream tonight!
Megan, Jeff and the girls drove down on April 29 to attend the memorial service for a dear friend, Rose (Gena's mom). Yes, it was a bittersweet visit, but oh how happy we were to see our family!
We decided to have a little birthday tea party for Sophia while she was here. She invited 2 friends from church, Greta and Ryah. The menu was pink lemonade, chocolate cake and strawberries. The girls made cards with tea pot and tea cup stamps so they can write to each other. It was a very fun 5th birthday party for everyone, especially Nana!
